Of the 12 million people with peripheral arterial disease, 75% never have any signs of it.  Women are less likely than men to have symptoms.  If there are symptoms, they may include:

  •      leg pain when walking or going up stairs
  •      pain, numbness or aching muscles
  •      sores on your legs or feet that don't heal
  •      cramping in the legs, thighs and feet
  •      skin appearance blue or pale in color
